The Gathering is for Fellowship:

In 1979, a few Christians from Taiwan established a Bible study group in Doraville Presbyterian Church. In February in 1983, they rented the sanctuary of North Decatur Presbyterian Church to hold church services, and named it Atlanta Taiwanese Presbyterian Church (ATPC). Six years later, ATPC joined the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta (PCUSA). On December 17, 1991, APTC purchased its own church building in Stone Mountain. Two years later in May, the beautiful Fellowship Hall was completed, completing the development of the church’s facilities.

The Fellowship is for Growth:

From the Sunday church services, the weekday Bible study classes, the ministry serving Taiwanese students, the holiday activities, the annual church retreat since 1987, and the leadership of its four pastors, the growth of ATPC is considerable in terms of the quality and quantity of the church members. ATPC has gradually become the spiritual home for Taiwanese-speaking Christians in Metropolitan Atlanta. It has also grown to be a place for Taiwanese people to yearn for their hometowns, to chat, and to work hard for their future.

The Growth is for Serving:

From a Bible study group to a church, from renting other churches’ facilities to having its own, from a few Taiwanese Christians gathering to now two services each Sunday, ATPC has grown with about one hundred and fifty people attending its services. All of this is God’s grace. We are extremely thankful.

Therefore,

Our first assignment and the purpose of ATPC is to follow Jesus’ call to spread the Good News. Our intention is to do God’s work for the Taiwanese community. Our responsibility is to lovingly care for Taiwan and Taiwanese culture.
